we are locked out of our laptop personal account, we have vista. what do we do to get in?

We own a toshiba. I really don't think that part matters being that it's a vista issue. We got water on the laptop and now that it's dry and turning on again, it won't accept our password to get into the personal accounts. We need advice from someone that knows what to do. We really cannot afford to take it in and don't have the time either. Please, please help.

Update:

Oh and gee thanks, like we woke up the other day and decided that we thought it would be a good day to dump water on our laptop. We already know that water and electronics don't mix.

this miiight work depending on how you set p your computer.

boot it in safe mode and a separate account with no password called 'administrator' should be a log in option. from that go into your account settings and delete the passwords for each account.

log in to the accounts and re-set :3

if it was water though, make sure that the capslock or numlock keys arent damaged or permanently pressed. try plugging in an external usb keyboard.

Can you boot it up in safe mode and get in to the admin account?

I can't imagine the password changing because you got water on it, but I *can* imagine one of the keys not working properly making it impossible for you to type in your password correctly.

You might still have some water under those keys too.

i dont know if it will work but you can take the hard drive out and plug it into a different computer as an external harddrive. you should then be able to access anything on it.
