Intermittent no-start 1999 Honda Accord?

You may have more than one problem going on but I would look first at the ignition switch or starter solenoid.

Honda had a recall for bad ignition switches on all 1999 Accords. The defect will burn the contacts inside the switch and can cause stalling and intermittant open circuits that will act just as you describe.

honda dealers will replace the switch at no charge under the recall provided it hasn't been previously replaced. stop by and have your honda dealer check the vehicle identification number; it takes about 2 minutes to check to see if the recall has been done. if not, have them do it.

recalls last forever and will be done free of charge regardless of the age of the vehicle or the mileage on it.

Check the pivot point for the clutch pedal. It's a long shot but it may inter fear with the switch.

Check the ground cable for the battery and it's condition. Remove the end that attaches to the engine and wire brush the contact point with some dollar store brushes.

Check the secondary ground from the engine to chassis, should be top right when facing the engine.

I'd start there.

Is this car a auto or 5 speed if 5 speed u need 2 ck the clutch switch & ck all fuse & breakers & conn at the battery & starter have a good charge on the battery & ck the small wire at the starter with the switch in the start position , it will have 12-v on it if the wires r all good if not it is the wires & if the wires r good with 12-v supply it will b the starter , but honda is bad about the starter switch at the steering wheel 2 go bad so ck it good

hot weather start problem is the fuel injection main relay,done about 100 of them. no crank, no sounds when turning key sounds like a bad starter motor done a bunch of those also. honda tech.9yrs.

how about taking it to a repair shop and actually getting some help from someone who KNOWS how to fix the car CORRECTLY in the first place.
