Below is what I believe Free Speech should constitute. What do you think?
Free speech is an inalienable right of a human being. Free speech includes but not limited to one's right to make statements that may be offensive, insulting and/or provocative to other people individually or the society in general. Free speech is one's freedom of criticizing and mocking any religion as well as religious figures. I believe, the only limitation free speech should have is anybody's calls to committing violence against other people (for example, "kill the jews" or "bomb the arabs" is not free speech and people should be punished for saying stuff like this). And, of course, nobody should have the right to shout "fire!" in a crowded movie theater if such alarm would be false.
Of course, one should always understand that he/she is or may be held responsible for his/her words.
To Johny And C: well, I agree that even the KKK has the right to free speech but, unlike you, I wouldn't fight to death for their right to free speech, I'd rather relax, sit back and watch the KKK being wiped out :)

Sure, but people often forget when they make insulting statements that one has the right to say something back.

The beauty of freedom and free speech is that whether you agree with anything anyone says, the speech is still protected. This means the KKK has the same free speech as anyone. I think the KKK is terrible but I'd fight to the death to maintain their right to spew their BS garbage
so free speech already does constitute all of that. I don't understand your point.
just know that these are rights that people have in public. but a company or institution can create their own policies. so you don't have free speech at work. so if you say something at work, you can get fired, but you can't get arrested.

certain, defamation is defamation no matter if on line or on paper. besides the indisputable fact that, everybody is in many circumstances perplexed about what defamation is. Defamation is making a actuality which will be proved incorrect, which will reason someone to lose their popularity. interior the above celebration, it will be proved that the sufferer did not marry her stepbrother, so it replaced right into a blatant lie. besides the indisputable fact that, if the 'sufferer' replaced right into a serial killer, it does no longer be classed as defamation because it does no longer reason him to lose his popularity. Many insults aren't any further extremely defammatory, because they exhibit opinion, no longer actuality. If the blogger had said 'She is a ineffective tw*t'' it does no longer be defammatory because it would want to't extremely be shown both way. reviews are superb, yet you won't be able to make up statements and present them because the reality to smash a persons'' image. that is what this blogger did.

I am for free speech, but at the same time part of the problem of the world today is a lack of respect. There should be enough respect in certain situations for a person to use tact. These situations should include, but not be limited to: teachers, parents, elderly, the president (regardless of party), your country, etc.
