  • How should I handle this employee call out?

    I have an employee that requested vacation and said they could be back in town on Sunday. The vacation request was honored and they were scheduled in on the day they asked to be. The schedule has been posted for a week and now the employee says they can't work. They have boarded their dog 100 miles away and can't pick the dog up until Monday morning. They are my only possible coverage. How would you handle this?
