Huevo's band of the day?

Today's band (oh who's kidding, I don't do this regularly at all) is Rocket From The Tombs, a protopunk band out of Cleveland during the mid-70's. Little known during their existence, upon disbandment the members broke up to form two of the top influential punk bands in America, The Dead Boys and Pere Ubu. Both bands went on to perform songs that were originally written during the time period of Rocket From The Tombs. I remember the band reforming a few years ago, not sure when, and going on a reunion tour to play their old classics. Unfortunately, work can suck at times and I was unable to attend these legends getting back together to do their thing.

Listen to the tracks and leave a comment if you like.

Update:

That doesn't surprise me Karl, you gots your hands in all kinds of pots. I first started listening to them about the time they refomred, a local rag had an article on them and from there it was no stopping.

Hey KP!! Man, it's been busy with work and home but hey, you do what you gots to do. How've you been doing?

Update 2:

'Sup Mama?! :)

Update 3:

Excellent point Shake, it does sound very similar. And yeah, there's a reason that the Hall of R'n'R is in Ohio although in many respects it has blasphemed itself (not Cleveland's fault though).

Update 4:

I'm Eighteen --->1970.

Rocket From The Tombs started in mid '74. Looks like we have our answer.

    Great pick from one of Ohio's own. I only have a few tunes of theirs, but I dig 'em. Sadly, I too missed the reunion tour a few years back. But then "Life Sucks" sometimes.

    Oh and "So Cold" sounds suspiciously like Alice Cooper's "I'm Eighteen". Which one came first I wonder? Another factoid to look up...

    Haha, for a second, I though I'd completely missed a long held tradition of Huevo's Band of the Day!
