Probably the best Landcruiser series ever made for true off roading. get 93, 94, 95. Try to find w/ front and rear locking diffs - or have them installed. The "good" 24 valve 6 cyl came in 93. In 1996 2 landcruisers finished 1st and 2nd in the Paris Dakar rally in the production unmodified class.
