Why don't people who ask the question pick a best answer?

I can't understand that either. Why ask a question and never choose a BA? It makes me wonder if they ever even went back to look at the answers. Yes, some people just pick their friends for BA even if their answers are the dumbest ever.

Sometimes people are too busy to use the computer. Really if you run a home or have a family or a pet that you have to care for by working you may not have the time that you do to dedicate to your personal interests - like spending time on the computer.

I'm just saying that maybe you should try to have what is called empathy for people who do not live the exact kind of life ( hours, hobbies, etc.) as you do. You can do this by trying to put yourself in their position. Maybe the people who posted the question just simply did not have time to get back to reading their question before in was put to public opinion.

Finally, yes, I agree with you that some answers are really dumb and probably should not even be in the responses. However, if that one is voted, maybe it was voted because there were no other answers. In voting you don't collect a point unless you click on a res ponces that says choose as best answer - especially if you are trying to accumulate a number of points.

Everyone has a different opinion and if the answer meets what they need then fine. There's plenty of questions and Best answers out they're so really stop insulting the askers. You don't deserve it for you're attitude.

Well normally Im never on when the question expires and it gives people to choose there answer as the best!

Yeah, sometimes they pick the best answer in a rush, without actually reviewing each one and seeing if the answer makes sense.

1) They completely forget to pick the best answer

2) They don't know how to pick the best answer

3) They don't know *what* the best answer is, so they leave it voting.

4) They don't log on in the four or eight days that their questions remains open.

some are lazy, some don't bother to and others simply don't know how.

other answerers get the best answer because they voted for themselves, ask others to vote for them or simply crete many YA accounts and use them to vote for their answers. I've got an experience of being beaten as best answer by IDK. it was a terrible FEELING really

it takes 4 hours before one can select best answer.

maybe some don't like waiting and just leave :(
