How to slow down longboarding?
I'm pretty new to longboarding. I took a pretty nasty fall the other day because I got going too fast and couldn't run it out. What are good ways to control your speed on a longboard?

Carve.
Here's a quick video to show you what it looks like, but you don't have to all the spins and stuff they're doing. It's simply a motion of going from side to side on the road.

Sorry to hear you fell, road rash is never a good thing. Enjoy your board.

foot braking and sliding are the two best ways of slowing yourself down. when you foot brake make sure you don't repeatedly stomp your foot down, but just slowly put your foot down and gradually add weight. to slide you will need some sliding gloves. you can buy them for $30+ or you can make them for about $10.
