Legality of possessing downloaded content abroad?
The USA is notorious in the torrent community for lawsuits against people who download/share copyrighted content, which is protected by the DMCA. However, other countries aren't so harsh. For example, Spain seems have to completely OK'ed downloading/torrenting as long as it's not intended for profit ( http://www.pcauthority.com.au/News/149677,spain-ru... ). My question is this: is it legal for US citizens to download copyrighted material while abroad, such as in Spain? What about keeping said material when they return to the US? What about personally sharing files between friends back in the US?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games10 years agoAwesome high-quality PC games?
Hey guys.
So my old computer was totally lame graphics wise. Any games I got had to be on lowest settings and lagged all the time.
Now I'm getting a new Alienware laptop with 4gb ram, an i5 processor, and an ati radeon mobility 5850 card. Basically, it's game time.
Thing is, I'm looking for some sweet games to get for it. I have/like Fallout 3, Metro 2033, Fable, Crysis, Age of Empires, Halo, and WoW. I'm looking for more cool games with good graphics. Any ideas?

5 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoMultiple routers from 1 DSL line?
Hey, so my house runs on a single DSL connection (Bleh, I know, but my parents don't want to shell out for Cable). We have a Qwest DSL modem that feeds the house Ethernet lines. It comes with a built-in WIreless Gateway, but the signal isn't near strong enough, I connected a Linksys Wireless-N Gigabit router (the best one I could buy) to the house Ethernet line. The problem is, we're in an old 1920's house with thick plaster walls, and the signal is still spotty at best. How can I get strong, reliable signal?
I was thinking either A) Use a series of repeaters to spread the signal or B) Setting up a router or wireless access point on each floor, each connected into the house Ethernet.
Thanks for your time and suggestions!
5 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoHow to unlock a 16GB iphone?
So I work at a library, and someone lost their iPhone, but it was locked with a 4-digit passcode.
I tried putting in a couple, now it says "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes"
But when I connect it, it says I can't restore it because it was password locked.
How do I get any sort of identification to return it? (like what its phone number is for example, we have a database that could tell me whose it was if I knew what its number was)
Alternatively, if you could tell me how to unlock or restore it, that would work too.
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoHardy headphones for a student?
I'm a very active person, and I listen to a lot of music. I have tunes playing whether I'm hiking, biking, or just working at my desk. The problem is I go through earbuds like crazy. I've replaced my standard Apple earbuds 3 times now, after the bass went out in each and they fell apart. I'm looking for headphones that sound nice, can handle being knocked around, but won't empty my meager wallet. Suggestions?
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoHelp installing Norton 360 onto multiple PC's?
I got Norton 360 last year for my laptop, and it auto-renewed this year. Since my antivirus on my desktop PC expired i figured I could just use one of my 3 charges for Norton 360. But I can't figure out how to download/install it. Help!
P.S. I have Norton 360 (3.0) installed and fully functioning on my laptop.
3 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoFlying with a longboard?
I'm flying domestic on United and I need to transport my longboard. It's a Sector 9 cruiser, 46' x 10" x4 " . Supposedly you can just check them as a bag, but I'm concerned about it being damaged. How can I protect it for the flight?
2 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade agoLongboard(skate) tricks?
Hey, so I'm looking to learn some neat stuff to pull off on my board. It's a 46" Sector9 cruiser, what a beauty.
I know basic cross-stepping and the tiger claw, looking for anything along those lines or something new! Links and videos are great, thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade agoZero laptop battery life?
So I bought an HP Pavilion dv6000 two years ago, give or take a couple months. It worked fine, still does pretty well, except for the battery. It has no juice at all. Even carrying it from my bedroom downstairs to the living room it goes into hibernation. I leave it plugged in all night, but in the morning it only reads 38% ! What is going on? What do I do?

I recently read Orwell's "1984" and "Animal Farm" and absolutely devoured them. I would love to find more of similar quality and style. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoCaffeine content in tea?
I like to drink Earl Grey tea when I study. Being a college student, I can't exactly afford to use a whole bag on each 8 oz. cup, plus I like it a tad weak. What I do is heat the water to just below boiling, then pour over the bag. I usually let it steep for about 10-15 seconds the first time. By increasing the time it steeps for each following cup made with the bag, I find I can make about three decent cups of tea off just one typical tea bag.
What I wonder is, what is the caffeine content of my tea? Are my subsequent cups lower in caffeine than the first? How would it compare to, say, an 8 oz. house coffee?
2 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks1 decade agoCan't delete a "secret" folder on Windows (Vista)!?
So I was experimenting with making an "invisible" folder that you had to know about to find. The problem is, now I can't delete it. I can change the icon and whether it's hidden or not, but it is stuck on read-only and will not delete. I can't hit the delete button, I can't drag it to the trash, it never goes to the trash. I go to properties and it say's it's read-only. When I try to turn it top regular and hit apply, when I reopen properties it's read-only again! Help!
P.S. No Vista-bashing please.

1 AnswerSecurity1 decade agoVarious good breakup songs?
As the question states, I'm looking for some good breakup songs. Idon't like /want hip-hop, rap, or country songs. Typical pop music is out too. What I really like/want is rock songs. Preferably for various attitudes about the breakup, like angry, sad, happy, etc. For ex., "So Happy"-Theory of a Deadman, "Mr. Brightside"-The Killers, "How To Save A Life"-The Fray. Any help is appreciated, the more specific the better. Thanks!

1 AnswerOther - Sports1 decade agoAikido a good choice?
I'm looking to pick up a self-defense martial art. There's been kids at school pushing me around and I'm tired of it. I can't just avoid them, because they cover my various routes between classes. I don't want to get in trouble hurting them, so I liked the relatively non-violent aspect of Aikido. Any objections/detailed suggestions?
(Yes, I realize this is a more long term art.)

And I'm more interested in protecting myself than getting in trouble, but I'd rather not hurt them if I don't have to.

6 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoWhat version of "Don't Let Me Down"?
I found a weird version of the song. It starts with Paul counting in "1,2,3,4" and during the opening riff right before the vocals come in, instead of hitting the ride cymbal, Ringo hits the crash. After the song, there's about 30 seconds of background chatter.
Where is this from? Thanks!
