How do you report BAH fraud?

My ex husband has moved in with his girlfriend who is in navy as he is

He is receiving BAH and they are not married. Who can I contact to report the fraud not only with the BAH but also her having a guest in base housing for more than 30 days.

Update:

She qualifies for base housing because she has a child. They are not married and our divorce is not finale as of yet

LOL - You are dumb. Why the hell do you care what your ex is up to anyway? FYI - It's most likely not fraud anyway, you can be eligable for BAH if you are single, and especially if you are divorced. I still recieved BAH for a good long while after my divorce, even though I was single, and I had plenty of girlfriends stay with me from time to time :D. You need to get the hell on with your life.

    1. As long as he is still legally married which is the case until the divorce is final he is entitled to BAH with Dependants. If he is E-5 or above he will still be qualified for BAH only at the single rate after the divorce is final.

    2. I doubt you'll be able to prove he is living with his girlfriend. You can report it to the base housing office but I seriously doubt anything would happen. Do you have any Idea how many vindictive soon to be x wives are out there ? Generally they don't evan waste the time to investigate.

    3. Time to move on and quit trying to get evan with your soon to be X.

Are you SURE he is getting BAH? Are you SURE that they are living in actual ON base housing together? Are you sure aren't maybe renting and paying for the apartment or house off base out of their pocket and keeping a room either on ship or in the barracks too? There are literally HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors that do that all the time and it is NOT illegal for them to do so.

If he is your ex, then it is time for you to move on and mind your own business and not to worry about what he is or isn't doing anymore. That is the miracle of divorce you aren't supposed to care what the other person is doing anymore.

ETA: If you are still married then he is NOT committing fraud because he IS still legally eligible for BAH until the divorce is final. As for living for with her or supposedly having an affair... unless you can PROVE (Confession, video of them having sex or pictures of them having sex) even with that a JAG officer is NOT going to touch it. And without PROOF that he is living there (more than 30 days) housing will NOT remove her from the quarters.Do yourself a favor, move on and just leave it alone you are just opening up crap that isn't worth opening.

You are correct...in that he is not

married to her or (you ?) and is therefore

    not entitled to Base Housing...UCMJ

(If you don't have a Divorce finalized it

is called Adultery and is punishable

    under the UCMJ)

(Also if he has failed to inform the Navy

of the change of his Marriage Status

(Dependent Status) he is in violation

    of the UCMJ)

BAH Fraud in the Navy is not

    looked at lightly.

It is also illegal for two unmarried

    Service Members to cohabit in

in Base Housing or off Base...UCMJ

Both are single and should be

    living in their respective Barracks...

I would contact the Base Admirals Office,

the higher up the Chain of Command

you go the less likely it is to be swept under the rug.

He/She will probably start a NCIS investigation.

Besides there is probably some Married

Couple with Children that could really use the House.

why stir up a hornets nest that ain't on your property no more??? vindictiveness or revenge is not yours to seek. just let it alone, it will all come out in the wash, Uncle sam always finds the fraud of such matters eventually. He's your ex, his life an concerns are no longer yours, and visa versa.

Source(s): mind your own business and you won't be minding mine.....

    1. she has to be married to get a house on base.. else she will live in the barracks

    2. if he's paying you any kind of support (child support?) he still qualifies for some pays single guys dont get.

    3. if i were you i'd wipe the crap off my shoes and move on.. this hatred and anger is only destroying YOU.

DOD fraud hotline, his Command, or NCIS for the Navy.

  • 1 decade ago

I think you contact base housing about someone living there; and then his chain of command is next.

  • 1 decade ago

I would contact NCIS and his CO

What they are doing is illegal and taking away from other MARRIED couples who could use that home.

What a waste of tax dollars
