However, recent evidence suggests that the fatal shots were actually fired from the ground, specifically from the Australian 24th Artillery. Most likely, it was Sgt. C. Popkin that fired the fatal shot, since he was manning that gun on that day. I say this with regret, because captain Brown was a distant relative of mine.
