Did global warming cause the current financial crisis?

Environmentalism kills. Some people will believe anything if the media crams it down their throats over and over again.

They are staying up nights worrying about their carbon footprint or how climate change is leaving polar bears adrift at sea, I've got the best advice you've heard in a while - get some sleep. People will never stop believing in silly ideas that waste other people's money.

Al Gore and his global warming flunkies have half the world brainwashed into thinking our ice caps are melting, our seas are on the verge of boiling, and that everywhere from Miami to Juneau, Alaska is about to be ravaged by tropical diseases from malaria to Dengue Fever. Well, I've studied the science and I've got an "inconvenient truth" for Gore and company - the only hot air that's threatening the planet is coming out of their mouths.

Global warming has benefited from one of the greatest public relations and marketing efforts in recent history. You'll hear plenty from environmentalists about carbon emissions, clean energy, and the disappearing arctic, but here's what you will NEVER hear them admit:

Scientists have reaped MILLIONS from their global warming "research." They've turned supporting global warming - despite what the science really says - into a cash cow!

In fact, these same scientists were trying to convince us the world was cooling just a few decades ago, when that's where the grant money was.

ADD: Populism uses the politics of discontent or blame. Barack Obama's recurring comparisons between CEO and average worker salaries is a class-warfare play on resentment with just enough truth to make it work with many voters. See author z above me as example.

Angry liberals are causing it by all their hot air. I wonder what it will take for you to admit you were wrong. In 10 or 20 years it will be funny to see you try to talk yourself out off all you said here. By then you will be trying to make money from saying global warming is now causing global cooling and that if we don't punish the evil Americans then world will end. Lucky for us most people don't fall for it. I'm not sure why you are asking a question like this because I know you won't accept any facts that go against your "religion".

Both these crisis situations originate from the same root, but they are not caused by each other.

They are caused by the meeting of two major developments:

On one side the world has become truly global, not only in economical sense, but at every level of life.

On the other hand the inherent selfish human behavior, where we want to take as much pleasure or profit as we can, but we do not want to give anything in return if possible, and we are happily exploiting everybody else, has reached its maximum potential by now.

These two cannot exist together, as our present attitude is destroying the closed integral system.

So first of all we need to learn what this full globalization truly means, and then we have to learn how we need to change our attitude, and relationships in between people to survive in such system.

If we correct the root problem, we will see, that the more superficial signs will correct themselves.

And we have to do this ourselves, each person correcting themselves, we must not leave it up to our politicians.

no global warming is just a climate thing like we don't need to spend much money on stoping glaciers melting. I think its ex pres. bush fault for the fact the america is so far in debt and in the finacle crises.

Global warming is caused by the greenhouse gases causing the North and South Poles' icebergs to melt -- which is a result of a warm feeling and high sea levels.

You don't have to waste millions of dollars to stop global warming. All you need is to reduce the over-usage of transportation and such. And probably one of the financial crisis is because of the oil price hike and higher prices of products, i think. (:
