Should I take a year off school?

After I graduate high school, I'm thinking about taking a year off

to refresh my mind, body, and soul. ( yeah I know that sounds lame) but I think I need it. Maybe taking a trip somewhere, go into full-time retail

for year, make some money, AND then go into being a full-time student?

Or should I just go in head first into college? What did you do?

I strongly, strongly, STRONGLY recommend you head right to college. Not that this pertains to you, but usually when people decide to take a year off, they get to settled into whatever they're doing and they usually just decide to forget it. You can always get a job at school if you're in need of cash, especially if you work on campus. They understand your situation if you're in need of money and they create very flexible shifts for you and it's easy to get promoted since kids are always graduating. College is an amazing experience. You don't want to be a year older than all of your friends now, do you?

i'm not sure you'll be making a lot of money in this economy...

i traveled around the world after graduating from college, before overgrad. it's a trip I think everyone should make at some point in their life. when i graduated from highschool, i wasn't very mature or independent, but if you feel ready go for it!

just don't stay at home with your parents

Well I will suggest you to continue your studies. But if you want to earn some money you can earn it while you are studying. Online education will provide you chance to earn money and study at same time. If you want to opt this option you can. For your reference here I am forwarding you some web site links that will give you information about top accredited universities offering online degrees in several fields. The links are

I wonder how much you want a refresh and how much you want to be lazy. From what I have seen watching my friends, it is VERY difficult to go back to studious habits once you've stopped using them. And I'd see how your parents feel about it as well, if I'd wanted to take a year off, I'd have had to take that year off in my own place. :P
