I have an Acer AcerNote 730 and would like to install Linux. How would I do this.?
I have had this laptop sitting at home for awhile now doing nothing and I want to be able to put it to good use. Currently the boot menu is not working and I cant figure out how to get it to work. Also the laptop only has a floppy drive so I cant install a new operating system via CD. I also would like to know whether any of the parts inside the laptop could be replaced/ upgraded due to the laptops old age. Any help is appreciated.
The computer has no USB ports.

If it has USB portrs, download Puppy Linux to a USB drive then use a WakePup floppy disk. Google both of those.

If the laptop has neither usb nor cd drive it is probably so old that it is not worth repairing. You could remove the hard drive and attach it to another computer via usb cable like the one in the link, but again the hard drive is probably so small that it would not be very useful.
