Have any my friends in the LGBT section formed attachments to pets?

I post this in here because this is where I have the most YA friends. I lost my little friend (cat) after 20 years yesterday. It's kind of tough right now. I'm wondering, do any of you find yourself forming strong attachments with pets?

Yes, i have a cat and two dogs. I am very attached to my pets, i treat them as though they are my children. My partner hates them and wants me to get rid of them but i could never ever do that. They are my family! Animals dont judge you and they are always there for you! Dont feel bad for feeling upset that your cat has gone to kitty heaven. Sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Yes, in my opinion they are more loving and loyal than people many times.

We had a 14year old cockerpoo that died due to kidney disease a few years ago. The day after as I was walking to work and saw everyone else going about their business as usual and laughing. I found myself wondering how everyone else could just carry on because I felt so heartbroken and like my world was off center.

My thoughts are with you. Hang in there, the pain does get easier with time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am very attached to my cats. When I lost my 19 year old, I was sad for months. I still miss him.

    Hugs to you.

    Yes very much.

I have a dog but don't know how to spell his type but his name is Bacardi. The previous owners were bartenders and hes the cutest thing we have ever owned. I would hate to see the day he leaves us through death, etc.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I've had pets all my life, and I know losing one of them could be even worse than losing a family member. Unlike people, pets are always happy to see you, always loving, and never judgmental. I know how much it hurts for you, and I'm sending you a huge cyber hug.

I have. I loved my first dog so much, but she had to be put down, so I know how hard it is. Right now, I just got a new Dog, and I love him to death. hes the only one who seems to really listen to me, haha(cause he has no choice mwahahaha) and he doesnt mind my singing.

Oh, yes. I once turned down the almost perfect man because he said I couldn't have him and cats too.
