What are the penalties for a disorderly persons offense in New Jersey?
Me and some of my friends played a prank on another kid saying the we were getting attacked and someone he knows heard it and bugged out and called the cops. The police investigated, wasted their resources, came after us nd charged us with some kind of disorderly person offense. What am I facing? Give it to me straightfoward please. Im bugging out.

New Jersey is different than most other places. The judge has more freedom and you could get probation plus a fine and be billed for what it cost to send the police out. I have sat through numerous cases in different counties and was amazed at how many people were charged the cost of the emergency service they abused.

probation at MOST and likely a deal whereby if you go on probation for a year the charges will be dropped. ask for a "pre-trial deferrment". this will take care of it.
