why didn't congress support the Obama stimulus bill?

whoops, I meant did support. sorry

I'm looking for articles to state why they supported it for a paper I'm writing.

    The Congress needs to line their pockets with our stimulus money.

    I'm sorry - we don't have any corrupt politicians - do we?

    Except for the tax cheats trying to get in there.

    They make millions and are so greedy - they didn't want to pay a few thousand in back taxes? Talk about GREED! Democrats have it!

    they passed it... so far... they just have to hammer out the differences between the house and senate version...

    but Republicans said they didn't like it for one of two reasons... they wanted more tax cuts...

    or thought it was too much money spent on silly projects...

    They did - that is why it passed.

    If you are asking why Republicans in congress largely didn't support it - I suppose bipartisanship is just something they talk about when it is time to get reelected.

    They did it passed but, with thier aproval rattings at 12% this week, I dont think America likes it.
