Which NASCAR driver should i pick as my favorite?
I was a diehard Dale Jarrett fan since he started racing.....I met him a few times in my life too.....I met him like 10 years ago.....i am 23......now since he retired, i have no favorite racer
i really have a hard time following nascar without rooting for anyone.....
who do you all think???
I was thinking of someone new, that wont retire anytime soon
He doesnt have to be a great racer...just fun to watch
Just not gordon, stewart, jimmie, the busch brothers, or jr......i dont want to follow them

Start fresh. Pick a young, talented face that won't be going anywhere soon.
I.E.
David Ragan
Clint Bowyer
Denny Hamlin
Martin Truex, Jr.
Brad Keselowski
Colin Braun
Aric Almirola
Just some of the good ones IMO.

I suggest picking your own driver. I found Gordon when he was a rookie in 93 and have been with him ever since. When he retires I will watch the rookies of the next season and pick one for two reasons. One, I have the potential of being able to root for a driver for a long time (16th year for me and Jeff). Two if I make a bad pick and the driver turns out to suck, he probably won't last long and I can try again at picking a winner. If he or she isn't that good also they may just lose their ride and go to another team in which you have the option of following your driver or sticking with your car, you pick. My dad's favorite driver for example is whoever is driving the 43 car (he was a huge King fan) or whoever is driving the Army car. So you could also just pick Ragan, 2nd year promising driver and he has the UPS car. Food for thought

I feel your pain. My Hubby and I are DJ fans. We knew 2008 may be his last year for a long time, so we discussed Kahne and Edwards over the years. We went with Edwards. I found out that a lot of Jarret's fan club members went with Carl, too.
Carl is fun to cheer for, because he is so competitive every race. Also, he is an underdog compared to the Hendrick drivers in the Championship race.
Things aren't the same. I guess it will take a while.

Jeff's right.. Matt is the smoothest guy out there after Jimmie..
When they were in Busch together, Dale said Matt was better then Jr,
even though Jr beat him out in two close Championships..
In race talk smooth is fast.. Besides, Matt can use the fans,
and he deserves them..

I went with Kyle Busch for 3 reasons:
1 His sponsor is M&M (same as Dales old sponsor)
2 He is GOOD
3 He is just a little cocky and doesnt let the negativity get to him

I think Mark Martin. He is an old, savvy veteran driver who will race clean every race and will drive smart. This is his last season he will race all year and hopefully he will win the championship. He won't win 10 races, but also won't have more than 2 dnf's to his name. So if you wan't to follow a driver, choose mark martin.

David Ragan is a New and he is a fun one to watch! I don't look for him to retire anytime soon! Carl Edwards is pretty dang cool too! He does one heck of a backflip!

Keep watching, you'll find someone you like. There's so many to pick from, Carl Edwards, Earnhart Jr. Ragan, many new drivers as well if they can find and keep sponsors. I like the Hendrick team, Johnson, Gordon, and Earnhart Jr.

I WAS A JARRETT FAN TOO, BUT KNEW HE WAS RETIRING, SO WANTING TO STICK WITH HENDRICK I LOOKED AT NATIONWIDE DRIVERS, WHICH WAS BUSCH SERIES BACK THEN, AND FOUND JIMMIE. IT'S BEEN A BLAST WATCHING HIM RISE TO THE TOP. I WOULD LOOK AT BRAD KESELOWSKI, HE IS A GREAT DRIVER.
