Help with printer please?

I just put a new color ink cartridge in my HP750 printer. Now I can't get it to print. Any idea what is wrong?

Update:

Thank you all for your answers. You are far more helpful than H.P. Support in India. I answered a zillion model #s ,etc and then was disconnected. I'm mortified to say it was the tab. Thank you all!

Did you take off the plastic covering the sensor on the ink cartridge? Put the old one back in and see if it prints. You could have bought a bad cartridge.

    Several things come to mind:

The first one is the protective tab... did you remove it from the printer heads...(sorry if that is a "duh" suggestion)

Did you use an HP cartridge? I noticed that HP doesn't always work with generic or off-brand cartridges even though they claim to be compatible with HP...

Did you make sure it was inserted completely?

Does the printed go through an alignment process after each ink cartridge change? It may be waiting for that to be done.

Check to see if the status changed to "work offline" that happens even when you don't initiate the action click file and see if that is checked.

If all else fails, try power-cycling the printer... unplug the power cord from the wall, and from the back of printer too (important) unplug the cable to your computer and wait a minute or two, then plug the cable back in, then the power cord in back, then into the wall outlet. That works most of the time. The order of unplugging and plugging is key, the wrong order can screw up the process.

Are you sure that all the cables and wires are plugged in all the way and that they are plugged in correctly.
