Do you know how to remove the protective coating on eyeglasses?

I've scratched the protective coating on my eyeglasses and it's making me crazy. Do you know of a reliable and safe means of removing it?

Don't scratch it any more! that is permanently damaging your lenses. at our lab, there's such a thing as a "anti reflective coat strip" - which does just what it says and strips the anti reflective coat off our lenses. Then you still have your RX and won't have that problem any longer! We only charge around $10-$15 for this service.

    Good luck! :)

I would try the above solutions first. If all else fails, try a bit of WD40 and then wash with a mild soap.. WD40 is also good at removing the leftover adhesive from price tags - especially on glass items. But, do this only if the other solutions won't work. I have no idea what kind of coatings you might have on your eyeglasses. The WD40 might affect them, too.

no. You need to have your lenses replaced. You should call where you got them. Some of these coatings have 1 -2 year warranties if they were purchased at a reputable place. (Discount places usually do not have good warranties.)

Take them to your optometrist. They can remove the coating. Hopefully you didn't scratch your lens.

There is no way you can remove it without making it worse.

Check where you got them, they are maybe still under warranty if you don't do anything to make it worse.
