What position does your baby sleep in at night?

my son has recently started sleeping in a strange position. He will roll onto his stomache and put his knees under him and sleep with his butt in the air....he will get mad because he will push his head to the bars in the corner and so i have to pull him toward the middle. He is 9 months...just curious if anyone elses child did anything similar have a strange way.

she will sleep with her butt up in the air usually.. but the other morning i found her in the strangest position..

it looked like she had fallen asleep sitting up and she was bent over, like in half! her toes were touching her ears! it was the weirdest thing, i rubbed her back so i would lay her down comfortably, and she woke up and stood up! i thought her little legs would be asleep! no way that was comfortable, but she didnt seem bothered by it!

My daughter started sleeping with her butt up in the air the day she learned to roll over. I had the same problem, she'd inch up her mattress and get upset when she couldn't go any further.

Now that she's sleeping in a bed (she's 1 1/2) She falls asleep on her back, spends most of the night on her side, but by morning she's got her butt stuck up in the air again.

    Perfectly normal.

I think my son started doing that around that time too. He is 2 now and still rolls that way after a few hours of sleep. It's pretty cute!

LOL. Yes my son does exact the same thing. Has done since he was about 6 months old and still does it now at 15 months old. He looks so cute sleeping like that though.

  • I think my daughter is most comfortable on her back because we have been putting her on her back to sleep since she was born. She usually will roll onto her side and if she accidently turns onto her belly she will wake up and cry until I turn her back over. She is 9 months old

My daughter is 15months and sleeps like that she pushes herself to the bars and lies across the bed she only screams when she realizes now she is jammed and cannot move any More to which I pull her back to the centre of the bed and the party starts again!

all babies go through a faze where they sleep just like that. My son is 12 months and has been sleeping in that position for about 4 months.

My daughter will either sleep on her side, exactly like I sleep. Or she wiggles all the way to the edge of her crib and will let her arm and leg hang out the bars and have her other arm and leg completely spread out over her bed, it's funny.

I wouldn't worry, I've seen a lot of kids do that. He probably finds it comfortable, maybe it reminds him of being curled up in the womb :)

As for having his head by the bars as long as the crib meets current safety standards then he should be fine.
