What do you eat if you're a vegetarian, and find out you're allergic to dairy, soy, and peanuts?

I'm a vegetarian and my son is allergic to dairy and peanuts for sure, but may also be allergic to soy. Since I'm breastfeeding (he's 7 months), I can't eat the things he's allergic to. Going off dairy hasn't been too bad, but that's because I replaced a lot of things with soy products. Now if I can't eat soy, what does that leave me with? I'd love to hear from anyone else who deals with food allergies.

Try almond milk (assuming he isn't also allergic to tree nuts) or rice milk for dairy replacement. As for protein, maybe try seitan, various types of beans/chickpeas/lentils, and quinoa. If you're not vegan, eggs are a good protein source. Almond butter could be a good peanut butter replacement, but I've never actually tried it (and you may have to check the label to see if it has peanut traces).

If you email me, I can give you a link to my food allergy group. I am vegetarian, and allergic to wheat, soy, corn, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, commercial dairy, and quite a few other things. I have had to be creative, thats for sure, but it can be done. My group has loads of recipes to help get you started. Probably the most important thing I could tell you is BUY ORGANIC-otherwise, you will be getting foods that have been genetically modified (this would include ALL commercially sold veggies and fruits) GMO means it has been spliced with the DNA of other species, and very often soy is part of that. Who would think a head of lettuce contains soy, but it does!! Soy is also the most highly modified "food" that there is. Soy has been spliced with all sorts of weird stuff, including scorpion venom to make the crops more pest resistant! Its a small wonder EVERYONE isn't allergic to soy-it is the leading cause of allergies in the US and UK. Also, you need to be aware of hidden, non food sources of soy, such as the dye in clothing, newspaper ink, cosmetics, shampoos, etc. Its a challenge, but it can be done. Fortunately, if you catch this early enough, chances are good that your lil guy will outgrow them.

You need to make sure he's allergic because soy will help him out a lot since he has the allergy to dairy. Im not sure what you can replace it with but you need to make sure its lots of vitamins!

More than likely he will grow out of the dairy allergy and the soy as well but they peanuts who knows. I hope u can figure something out. I know I prefered my daughter on soy formulas since they were better for her. (I couldnt breast feed after 2 weeks sadly).

you can move to rice, almond or oat milk.

I hardly ever eat soya - use other types of beans to make your own beanburgers, chillis, cassoulets, casseroles, fajitas. Plus lentils for dahl and soups.

Replace peanut butter with cashew or almond butter

You may need to reconsider your philosophy. Your child's health is vital, and humans are able to thrive on mixed meats and veggies. Have you tried various fish recipes?

    Sorry.
