How long after knee surgery should my dog be using his leg without any limping?

My dog had Medial Patellar Luxation surgery on his knee 10 days ago. He seems to be using the leg completely but he's still limping a little bit. How long until he's no longer limping?

The Vet should have explained to you how long the dog should have to stay off the leg and what precautions to take. All dogs heal differently. If the dog is limping it means it is still painful to him. Perhaps he is using it too much. Try to slow him down.

One of my chihuahuas had to have the surgery and I think it was about 3 weeks until it was 100% back to normal but it has been a few years so not sure on the time. The vet should tell you what to expect. Here is a good article on it.
