bus lines from shreveport, la to new orleans?
I was wondering if there is a bus line running from Shreveport, Louisiana to New Orleans, Louisiana that would allow pets (if kept in a carrier). We were fostering a ferret for a friend until she found a good place to live - she finally found a place. Only thing is she doesn't have a car and it's 5 hours one way to go deliver the ferret. I thought a good idea was to get a bus ticket so she could stay the weekend and visit and take the ferret back on the return trip.
Are there any bus lines that would make that long trip? and allow small animals if kept in a crate (ferret tops the scales at 2 lbs.) and held by the owner?
I tried greyhound but they said no pets - not even when I was explaining the circumstance.

Greyhound is the only one I know off. Maybe check in to flying the pet to her. It would probably be less expensive than to fly her round-trip to pick it up.
While checking in to an airline ticket, you might come across a super cheap ticket to fly her round trip. The ferret would be her carry on and there would not be an additional fee for her to take the little guy on the plane.
