take a slice of raw not precooked bacon and wrap it around the outer side edge and seal it with a wooden tooth pick then sear it in a hot pan on all sides then put it in the oven at 350 degrees or the grille and cook until it is your desired doneness or temperature. Note that the filet has little or no fat content this is why you would use the bacon and this will add so much more flavor and tenderness .

    P.S,

Salting meat before cooking makes the muscle tense up and the meat tougher .

Heat up a cast iron pan till it is hot and hit the steak on each side to sear it. Do this in a dry pan. The meat will stick until it is just right, then you can flip it without it sticking. Remove it from the pan when the second side lifts free.

Wrap a piece of pre-cooked bacon around it and use a toothpick to hold it. Rub the seared areas with fresh crushed garlic and grind on some black pepper.

grill (gas or charcoal both work fine) until the internal temp is 135 F.

Let meat "rest" off heat for 4 minutes before eating.

Filet is best just plain. Salt and pepper, or steak seasoning at the very most.

Sear in a hot skillet or b-b-q and enjoy. Do not over cook the steak. Medium is the farthest you should go. Medium rare is nice though.

Do NOT put sauce on it when you eat it though.

its pretty good with nothing but salt. get your pan or whatever really really hot, then flip it on each side once so the juices stay inside(uncut sides included) and just before its ready put the salt on. i know it sounds plain but its really pretty good, if you like it medium rare

I like it grilled on the charcoal grill (or gas grill). You can make a nice pan sauce with the ingredients you named that you have.
