Then you think wrong! Statistically it IS the safest.

Well, the thing about airplanes is that they do encounter many mechanical problems, and there is that issue of terrorist attacks that have happened on planes, or at least attempted hijackings. I think it is up to the individual to decide if they want to ride on a plane. Some have complete confidence in their pilots and the training they have had. Some put their trust in God, and believe he will protect them which I believe is true. Its just a personal decision of course. But here website that you may confirm your reasoning for not traveling by plane.

In my opinion I wouldn't be too afraid of it, because the chances are that you dying in a plane accident are slim, but again it is your choice. What I have also found is that the ratio of deaths while in flight is very slim. The website I have provided shows this. It does who the accident rates which may confirm why you shouldn't fly but it does prove that the rates are significantly low making the plane the safest mode of transportation as it stands.

I gave a plane ride scheduled for later today. Going out with a buddy to count deer population.

Until I hear that all aircraft are being deliberately targeted by Aliens I will continue to fly. And today is Friday the 13th too. If we were to be put off by every incident in this world we would never leave our houses.

There; I'm back already. No drama. Pleasant flight and we did not crash. Beautiful day for flying too. Unlimited visibility and we found lots of deer.

Well these are random things that happen. I am not afraid to get on a plane. There are more car accidents and a greater chance of death in a car than on a plane.

It is just the middle of the trifecta of plane crashes.

However you need to remember the Plane that went down in the Hudson was a Miricle and we do not have all the details of the current crash but it is a tragedy and my heart and prayers go out to the families of those who lost loved ones.

    Ask yourself this...

Would you rather die instantly? Without feeling the blunt force trauma that will end your life?

Or would you rather die by spinning and flipping 45 times into a ditch, where you won't get knocked out while you feel your left arm being ripped from your body and your right foot being bent at a 115 degree angle.

Not to mention your seat belt will be FUBAR by this time, making you unable to get yourself free with your remaining arm, you will have an airbag suffocating you. Oh and that gas leak will soon be ignited by your engine, which is still very hot, at which time you will slowly burn to death before finally being turned into a charcoal briquette.

I'll still fly. It's by far safer than car and more convenient than a train.

I do, it's still many many times safer than driving your car.
