Egypt/Middle East - diapers/nappys for infants?

As a professional market researcher, I sometimes run across questions that are answered differently in different areas of the world.

I am looking for information about diapers (nappys) and their use in Egypt, and throughout the Middle East. Answers from those who live in, or have spent time in the area are most welcome, especially from mothers!

What do you use on your child? (Cloth or disposable?)

What brand are they?

If cloth, how do you fold them? Do you use anything to make them more absorbant?

Where do you buy them, and how many do you purchase at a time? (Individual diapers or an entire package?) Are they hard to find?

At what age to your children stop wearing diapers? Do you use diapers at different times (at home or away, at naptime or overnight) and other clothing at other times?

Most people use disposable diapers, middle-rich classes, that is.

The most common brand available on the market is Pampers. However, many mothers have found it not that good by night for leakage problems, so they opt for Fine (another brand) at night. These diapers are bought by the packet, for practical reasons and because it is cheaper that way. They are available at all supemarkets, grocery stores and pharmacies.

Poorer classes use cloth diapers, but when going out they use a disposable nappy that can be bought individually from grocery stores or pharmacies. Some people use a plastic underwear over the cloth diaper. There are absorbant pads sold to use with cloth nappies, but they aren't well marketed, so many people don't know about them. Cloth diapers are available at shops that sell babies clothes. They are very easy to find. They are folded in the same way Dr. Spock gives his instructions.

Children stop wearing diapers sometime between the age of 1 and 2. There are no rules.
