Who will be the surprise team this year?

I think the Orioles, and not just because they are my favorite team.

Going to say the Giants. They have upgraded their pitching both in the rotation and the bullpen. They should get enough hitting to win a bunch of 3-2 games.

The Yankees are my surprise team this year.

You didn't specifiy how they would be a surprise team. Most people think of surprise teams as teams who do much better than we would have thought. I'm going with the Yankees as being one that will surprise us by being significantly worse than we expect.

Everyone expects the Yankees to win it all. I mean, they already had the biggest payroll and players like A-Roid, Jeter, Posada, etc. Now they've added Texiera, Sabathia, etc, everyone thinks they'll be a lock. They still have a relatively weak outfield and a weak bullpen, and I think the bullpen will be their undoing. They also don't seem to mesh well together. I mean, talent wise, they've been at the top of the league for years, and they didn't even make the playoffs last year. Boston has been better, and the Rays are young and only going to get better, which I think will leave the Yankees on the outside looking in.

I've gotta go with Kansas City. They have been terrible for the last few years which has given them a lot of talent through high draft picks. The front of the rotation is pretty good with Greinke and Meche and they have a great closer in Soria. They also have a young core in the lineup with some nice veteran additions in Mike Jacobs and Coco Crisp. I don't think they are a playoff team yet unless Alex Gordon and Billy Butler take huge leaps forward (which could happen), but they should remain competitive in the AL Central all season and finish with a winning record.

Rockies will bounce back. They will win the The NL West. The Tigers will too. However I think they'll finish 2nd.

Cardinals, Indians, and Twins will fall off.

The Indians rotation is terrible. Carmona, Hafner, and Martinez are all coming back from injuries. The only reason they might do good is bacasue their division is terrible.

Minnesota. After Morneau and Mauer. Nobody else is any good in that line up. Their divison is very competitive.

Cardinals. They did good lst year becuase they picked up Todd Welleymeyer and Ryan Ludwick off the scrap heap, but this team has got Pujols that's it. They can't count on anyone else.

The Orioles will be better, but they have to play 3 of the 5 best teams in all of baseball in the Yanks, Red Sox and Devil Rays, so their improvement might not result in more wins, making it more difficult to see.

My surprise team of the year is the Florida Marlins. If their young pitching continues to develop they could shock the Mets and Phillies.

    The Braves hands down

the rotation this year will be amazing with solid starters all acorss the board. Plus if we get an outfield bat or sign orlando hudson they will have a good lineup

I think the Indians could surprise a lot of people. They got some good talent (like Kerry Wood) in free agency, and they've got a good young offense. Look for Cleveland to contend for the AL Central title.

All of the teams mentioned here will do alright, but I think out of these teams mentioned, Cleveland will bounce back from a bad year.
