Do You Believe Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder?

Update:

Violet - I kind of agree with you.

It hasn't really happened to me with being in love; I'm still pretty young, but I know when my older brother went to college I really missed him a LOT in the beginning. Now that he's got a job and an apartment in the city, he doesn't come home much, but I've gotten used to him being away and it's not so bad anymore.

Sometimes it depends on how long the absence is...

My theory is that you go through a 'growing fonder' period in the event of someone you're in love with's absence.

However, if someone you are in love with is away forever, and you know that you will probably never see them again, I feel like you start to 'repair' yourself. It's like you start to move on a little.

I'm not completely sure- I mean it's just a theory. What do you think?

    Yes

  • No I don't It has never shown itself to be that way to me . If It did . I would be smiling right now and that guy I should be with would be here where he belongs and not with that whore. I wish he would come back . I want to smile again . The absence is only breaking my heart further .

Sure. The happiest years I had with my ex were while he was in the Navy. :-)

My husband and I began our relationship right as he was moving to Hawaii. We continued the relationship long-distance until he moved back to give us a chance Turned out it worked out for us. We've been married almost 17 years.

No! Not at all! After a fight with my boyfriend I told him I wanted some space for a few days and expected after that we would be closer. I was so wrong, he'd already moved on! After about 4 days?!! Not going to make that mistake again!

No Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder, not absence.
