Havlat was going to play the puck. It's unfortunate that Havlat got hurt, but that was a clean hit. Just because it was a big hit, it doesn't mean it's a penalty.

Think of Stevens' hit on Kariya in the 2003 Cup finals. It was a big hit, Kariya got the wind knocked out of him, but it was clean and therefore did not get a penalty. A similar situation happened here, and an unnecessary penalty was given.

Today in the Devils/Coyotes game, Dimitri Kalinin got a delay of game penalty after hitting the puck over the glass while the puck was in mid-air. Shane Doan was arguing with the refs about this, and both commentators (Doc and Chico) were unsure about the play. Should Kalinin have gotten the delay of game (puck over glass) penalty, or is it within the rules to do so?

Anyone else surprised by the Devils offensive turnout this season? The Devils scored 20 goals in the past 4 games, without Brodeur in net, and without Rolston. I would think the Devils would play an even more defensive game while their backups are in net, knowing Marty won't be there to stop the big shots.

Also, the Devils have scored 5 or more goals in 6 of their 20 games! That's pretty impressive for such a defensive minded team!

Last night, I received a ridiculous message from the user Sammy.

"There is nothing more unattractive than a woman who enjoys bloodsports. Creeps like you who enjoy bloody beatings that take place in hockey have zero feminity. But I assume you acknowledge that. What other sport would allow this type of violence? You are a bloodthirsty creep."

I'm not at all offended or upset because I know it's completely untrue, but I find it so ignorant and stupid. I hope this is some really sick joke...Did any of you guys receive a message like this? What do you think about jerks like that?

How Are the Devils Going to Cope With All Their Injuries?

Brodeur, Rolston, Holik, and Greene are all on the IR, and Paul Martin's DTD. Salvador and Gionta left the game last night. The Devils are just outrageously plagued by injuries! Our franchise goalie's out, and so are our two best defensemen (Martin and Salvador), and two of our best forwards (Gionta and Rolston)! Not to mention, two of our Lowell guys that usually get called up are on the IR too! (Leblond, Tallackson) This is crazy...

I know this has been asked many times, but just seeing the Devils/Thrashers game today really made me think why the hell there are 24 teams in the United States, and only 6 in Canada when most people in the US don't give a crap about hockey. The Thrashers attendance was pathetic. There were only like 5,000 people at the game tonight! You know your team has no fans when you're being dissed by a Devils fan!!

I'm certain that if the Thrashers were relocated to Winnipeg or even Halifax, they'd have a better attendance rate than they do now. When will the league realize that hockey is popular in Canada, and it's not popular in the United States, especially not in the South.

I was at the Devils game yesterday, and a guy propsed to his girlfriend, and she said yes. Of course, not all marriage proposals at sporting events work out, like this one!

I received that sort of quiz in an e-mail, and it says that 98% of people answered Red Hammer. What is it about the math problems or just the quiz in general that makes people answer the same way? My friend took the quiz, and he and all this friends answered Red Hammer. My brother and I took the quiz, and answered something differently. Does it matter that we're related, and that's why BOTH of us answered differently? Any information on this would be helpful! Thanks.

Does anyone else agree there is way too much overreacting and hatred toward China just because Cheng Fei got a medal, and Alicia Sacramone did not?

What about in the Athens games in 2004 when American Paul Hamm completely fell off the mat on the vault, and still managed to get GOLD? Why is nobody defending the Korean Kim Dae-Eun who got silver there, who missed gold by 0.012 of a point? Is it because he's not American? Cheng Fei just fell on her knees. Hamm nearly hit the judges' table.

Where are all these crazy non-hockey questions coming from?! WHY US YAHOO, WHY?!

I've never known why comic book creators decided to make their superheroes' costumes look like they have speedos or ladies bathing suits on the outside...
