I Got This Ridiculous, Sexist, Hockey Hating Message...?

I have never received a message like that - though its quite apparent that people hate hockey with some of the verbal abuse that it gets once in awhile on Yahoo Answers.

On the subject of fighting:

I must add that being a Canadian, I know there would be a mutiny if it ever came to removing it from the sport. Not because of the entertainment value but because fighting is a part of hockey.

It's an emotional, physical sport and quite often its used as a tactic. Players don't have malicious intent while they fight, rarely do you see a player leave a game due to an injury incurred during a fight. That is a fact!

I respect players that fight. It's not an easy role and not the most glamorous. But teammates and opponents understand and respect it alike. There is something to be said, when you see a rookie trying to make a name for himself by taking on a established 'heavyweight" especially when you see the rookie being padded on the back by the opponent after the fight. That speaks volumes and you certainly don't see that in other sports when athletes get involved in physical altercations.

Some people don't like it, others just don't understand it. That's fine. But it certainly doesn't make it an excuse for hateful criticism.

Long live fighting in hockey!

The North American Online Troll is bad enough; he/she of minimal intelligence, mouth breathing, complete lack of any social life, a complete outsider likely looking at a lifetime of loneliness, sloth, poverty, and generally being a wart on the buttocks of society.

You have a social life, hobbies, and the characteristics of normal people. The individual that wrote this is either a child or an adult that lives at home with mummy and daddy, has no friends, no life, likely unemployed, and generally no social interaction. If Sammy is a male, I'm picturing some balding 40-year old whose idea of a big night out is going to a comic book convention, or maybe an online game of dungeons and dragons. If Sammy is a younger male, he's the kid with no friends, a face that looks similar to that of a pepperoni pizza, and about the same chance of success in life as Don Cherry defecting from Canada to become a Russian citizen. If Sammy is a female...I'd put the over/under on the number of cats she has at about 12.

Delete the message, revel in your love of this wonderful game, and give it not another thought.

Sammy, I'm sorry you are not attracted to a real woman. I understand Nascar fans are your cup of tea. A woman who is smart enough to follow a multi faceted game is not for you. Secondly I respect the fact that an aggressive sport is not for you either, seeing as you where always the last one picked for dodge ball in gym. I don't come into your reality TV chat group and pick on you for being a tool. Hopefully the fact that you lashed out to most of the girls in this section helps you to sleep well in your fuzzy bunnie slippers and race car bed at night.

On one final note, I bet your mom is real happy to have her 40 year old son living in her basement. Have a nice day, and get a life.

Someone just wants to be an online tough guy. Just ignore it and move on, he gets his kicks from insulting others and seeing their reactions. When you ignore it that will make him annoyed. Since you know none of this is true it doesn't even matter. Sounds like he just has a grudge with women and hockey.

No I have not gotten a message like that via email, but I have been called out in answers, I forget the particulars but on guy said there is nothing "girly" about me since I like hockey. It was pretty rude. Apparently there are a lot of haters out there.

wow! whats up her *ss?! .. i have never received an e-mail like that... but i guess i must be a bloodthirsty creep right along side of you! =] Because hockey is the best game out there in my mind. . and damn straight you shouldn't be offended or upset, she's the one who should be embarrassed for writing such an e-mail as that one. My opinion of jerks like that.. is just that, they're jerks.. PERIOD! She should get a life, instead of going out there and telling people what she thinks about them. ALL OF US HERE IN THE HOCKEY SECTION ARE DAMN PROUD TO SAY THAT WE LOVE HOCKEY AND WE'LL STICK TOGETHER .. LIKE THE "BLOOD THIRSTY CREEPS" (so to speak) THAT WE ARE. Please email Sammy and remind "it" that "it" has sent me the same email, verbatum, for the better part of two years. Wait till 'it" asks if you have children and TRIES to insult your reproductive organs.

Literally, almost daily. At some point you just start laughing, knowing he's jerking off in his mother's basement to a Tiffany Amber Theissan poster. I imagine Sammy looks a lot like Comic Book Guy.

This Sammy,All he/she does is copy/paste that message to all the girls.Amy B,Amdd,San and now I read Briana and sporty_ have gotten it and now you.Just look at it like "You made it" in this section.IF you get that message it probably means this "person" thinks you know hockey and is trying to get you to run away to your mommy and daddy.Screw em!

He/she doesn't have the balls to send these messages to guys like myself cause all it will do is just embarass itself some more.This is the type of person that runs away from problems which makes it even more worse and hopefully they don't have kids because I wonder how many times they would have had there asses whupped if they did.
