Drug tests for public(government) assistance. Read the statement below. Do you agree or not. Why?

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me.

I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test

with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the

distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I

have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no

problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other

hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their lazy butts,

doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the

state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public

assistance check?

Maybe that program can be titled 'Urine or You're Out'.

Update:

By the way I DO AGREE with it and I am tired of my tax dollars going to support someones drug habits.

I, too, have random drug testing at my employment and I too think random drug screening is a great idea for those on public assistance, as well as "pre-public assistance" testing.

I'm a recovering meth addict and something like this could have saved me several years of HELL! Everyone I know who is in recovery wishes they'd gotten here sooner. Drug addiction isn't fun.

Urine or you're out, that's good. We could also get kids out of these situations before it got so horribly bad, too.

I think it's a good idea. Are they really going to do it? I get govenment assistance and I would be happy to go. I thank God for this help, & for taxpayer's like you. I'm also sorry for the burden. I'm the only one in the family that recieves it. My children work. I have 12 herniated discs {they started hurting much more as I got older...} that I have due to an abusive husband that did drug's all day when they fired him. And he never stopped. I have other thing's wrong too. If it werent for the medication I take, I couldnt lead a full life. I try to give back, though. I volunteer when I can at different place's along the year's.

i be Happy with that. you know why because i don't do drugs. but i wont be happy taking the test if am not allowed to drink alchool every now and then. but if the test is for drugs only then i will take it. i must say illegal drugs i assume. because my son is on adder all he had adhd so his dr. give to him so if he need to take a drug test it might show that, so is my daughter they are 12,9. but anyways i work hard i work full time to feed my kids so if the drugs test only test drugs like weeds and other illegals drugs sign me up.

and i waste about 30 dollars. a month a bit more o my 11 year old and 7 year old still have night time accidents so i need to buy them goodnites, that doesnt cover on food states

I agree too, but most times that money they get is used for the care and feeding of children who aren't on drugs, just had the bad luck to be born to losers on drugs. I wouldn't want to harm a child because of a stupid parent.
