Does any one remember the movie?

Macumba Love, it was done in 3-D and had to be in the 60's. I remember it because we were suppose to be at the theater across the street to see and age appropriate movie. This was a really strong movie of magic and Voodoo, a snake god and the one thing I can still to this day remember very clearly. The woman had this guy tied to something like a trellis and was going to do him in, She took a long thin pin (needle) and as she got closer the camera went to the reflection of the pin coming close and closer to his eye, suddenly the screen erupts in red (blood) and being in 3-D it looked like you were going to have blood all over you. It was wild, my friend I talked in going to see it wouldn't talk to me anymore because she had nightmares for weeks and she told her parents. Of course they told my grandmother, she acted mad but asked all kinds of questions about the movie. She didn't think I knew her and her best friend went to see it that weekend she made the mistake of keeping the 3-D glasses. I asked here because we seniors should remember things like that, 3-D was real new back then.

OMG...what a great movie that one was. I never could remember the name ....but that scene you described will stay in my memory banks forever & ever & ever! I still have a pair of those 3-D glasses on my box of school papers...how hilarious. Happy Friday the 13th!

How did I miss that one? The first 3-D movie I ever saw was "Bwana Devil" released in 1952. It starred Robert Stack and Barbara Britton. I can't remember much about it other than the 3-D effects and wondering why I took the long bus trip into downtown Los Angeles to see it. I guess for the same reason I stood in line for an hour to see "The Exorcist".

Wow, sounds like you had a good time. No, sorry I didn't see the movie. I was taken to see the House of Wax by my Aunt and it was in 3D. It was in the 50's I think and I was little, don't know what she was thinking, but I sure didn't keep the glasses on very much. Don't like scary movies to this day. That's funny about your Grandmother going to the movie after you saw it. She probably had a good laugh about it.

No, I didn't see Macumba Love. The only movie that I remember seeing in 3D was 13 Ghosts.

I remember "The House of Wax" in 3-D, because that ball on a string seemed to come right into the audience at me.

Nope, but I saw Friday the 13th III, in 3D. My daughter just went and saw Coraline in 3D. She said the glasses were better quality and not made of cardboard. It was creepy, not for kids but the artwork was interesting.
