Is the Stimulus bill a good thing or politics as usual?
Would you vote on this or pass on it till you read it?
I know I would read my mortgage papers or my car loan before I signed it. And if I didn't understand a part of it I would get an explanation.
Why wouldn't our government do the same?

I would read any bill before voting on it. It's a given that no member of Congress (with the possible exception of Ron Paul) didn't read the bill. The bill itself is not the issue. The real issue is, has been, and always will be the Federal Reserve System and its ability to monetize the debt, i.e., its ability to print money with no commodity backing it.
The trillions about to be dumped into the economy will benefit those who first receive it, but when it "trickles down" to the average person it will actually decrease one's purchasing power as prices will have already increased to a point where you might be paying $8.00 for a gallon of milk or $10.00 for a bag of potatoes. This is called inflation which is a result of the Fed creating money out of thin air without a commodity backing it.
The artificial interest rates set by the Fed do not reflect what the free market would set. Interest rates should actually be higher. Government setting the interest rate only misallocates resources and encourages borrowing more, so when you buy that new car or house you might appear to be getting a great deal on your mortgage or loan, but in the long term those interest rates will rise because of inflation. In the end you will pay more.

If you sign ANYTHING before you read and understand it. YOU are an IDIOT.
There was a lot of things that were not done as usual with this bill.
You and I both know that this bill was generated on a computer. And was a file on a computer, and that that file was given to the printers so that the 800 page document could be printed out. Why then was it not available to the staffer of the house and senate in computer file form, it was delivered only in text on paper. The only reason for this is to prevent the speedy review of the lengthy document. A calculated manuver by SOMEBODY, to slow the information on the bill from getting out to other legislators and the people. THEY DIDN'T WANT US TO KNOW, anything other than WHAT they TOLD us.

I hope Congress and Obama are a lot smarter than I am and it works. I just can not understand how it is a good thing. I am afraid it will hurt us more than help in the long run.

Obama pressured them to pass the bill by the deadline and didn't allow time to read it. It would not pass if anybody was allowed to read it first.

There is so much pork in the bill that the only thing that it stimulates is gastric acid in my non-socialist stomach. Politics as usual. Do these morons actually represent you?
