How bad are John Hughes films?

Question

The one where the guy is working at Target was just on.What a bunch of no dialogue crap.Ferris Bueler has a special place in the crap hall of fame ,I can't even look at Mathew Broderic ever since .Actually I might even dislike him more than Jon Cryer,might, it's gotta be close as they are virtually clones of one another. The Breakfast Club is so dated but I have to say I still enjoy Anthony Michael Hall and the Donger in 16 Candles . Also who doesn't love Planes Trains and Automobiles but what's left? Is there any other film by this guy that doesn't make you ask how the hell this guy's movies were ever popular?

I absolutely agree he was tuned into what worked at the time but truely greatmovies stand the test of time.His have become painful to watch for the most part.

come on career opportunities isn't that bad Jennifer Connolly is completely hot in it, and uncle buck and weird science were really good too,but like you i think he's past his prime and won't make another great film, at the time he did have his pulse on teenagers and their situations  i started to see the downfall of him during the home alone series , i mean they were terrible.........."keep the change ya filthy animal" I don't think I'm being cruel since he hasn't written and directed a film since 1991's curly sue and it sucked.
