98 civic suspension clunking?

i got a problem, my 98 civic has been making this annoy clunking sound on my front passenger side for a month now and i just cant stand it. i had new rotors/pads, GC coils/Tokico Illumina shocks, but the shop kinda did a horrible job and i would not like to take my car back there. i took it to another shop to get checked out, they checked everything and said that it was the shocks (but they seem unsure) they said that its because theirs no bushing at the bottom of the shock and that its hitting metal to metal. But the problem is there was only bushing supplied for the upper mount, and the rest of the car is hitting metal to metal and not making the same noise. just wanna know if anyone had a problem like this, could the be improbably placed and causing this clunk, this sounds like metal to metal banging, and the side the noise is coming from doesn't take bumps as good as the drivers side.

am thinking about taking it to another shop to get the passenger side reinstalled

My girlfriend recently bought a 98 Civic and it had clunking in the rear, I installed new control arm bushings and it reduced the clunking but didn't completely eliminate it.

However that's the first thing to check, check all the control arm bushings, front and rear... on a 11 year old car it's almost guaranteed that some will need replacing.

you in all probability ought to replace the ask your self absorber. whilst a ask your self is going dry it starts off to squeak. once you're thinking why it fairly is taking place each and every of the time your using its because of the fact once you circulate over a bump the ask your self engages comparable as once you push on that section of the automobile.
