"Hi"...... Firstly , I see by your profile that you are an Iranian medical student in Iran so a "Hello" from Canada.*S*

Now to your question , No..... the rumour you heard is absolutely untrue and I may as well add that it made me smile a bit , it's funny how these rumours get started and buzz around this great big global community we all share.

Microwave ovens are a very popular kitchen item in Canada and I would venture to say that the majority of Canadian households have them as well as "lunch rooms" in various offices and businesses and even school cafeterias.

They serve a useful purpose from making soup quickly to heating left overs for dinner to making a cup of hot chocolate after an outdoor hockey game and last but not least that quick bowl of popcorn one can make 3 minutes before your favorite movie on TV starts ! *lol*

Incidently the radiation produced by a microwave oven is non-ionizing. It therefore does not have the cancer risks associated with ionizing radiation such as X-rays, ultraviolet light, and high-energy particles and I thought you should know this.

Canadians generally are quite health conscious so if microwave ovens were indeed hazardess then we wouldn't use them and their sale would be prohibited.

Glad to help and "Good Luck" in your studies ! *S* (Michael C...)

They are being banned in the US too because of Cancer, the loud noise they put out is causing hearing loss, and because the steam from the food being cooked is going into the atmosphere, and in doing so the clouds being formed are turning into rain showers that is causing global flooding at catastrophic rates. In the past three years the sea level has risen four feet causing rivers to back up flooding 53.7% of farming fields in Arizona alone.

I'll never forget the terror in my daughters eyes the night they stormed in and removed them from our home. They got the one from the kitchen and the spare from the furnace room. The ba$tards even got the one from the camper. Its been absolute heII making popcorn since that night too.

From a more national perspective though, it's really taken a bite out of the Michelina's sales not to mention rest of the TV dinner market.

If you are lucky enough to still have yours...for the love of God don't let them take it. Fight, fight them in the streets, fight them in the ally ways. If you let them win now they will come for your cell phones next.

they haven't been banned, nor is there any scientific evidence that microwaves cause cancer or anything else.
