Why must everything be controlled?

As if your a captain, and you need to take an extra 3 lifeboats. Or rather, 3 extra engines, just incase the other 2 break... Or whatever. What's wrong/frightening about simply going with the flow? Why do people need to know what is happening, going to happen and has happened!?

All things are free, like darting fishes, or circling kites.

There is a third state, beyond controlling, and being blown like dust; to go beyond the division of controller and controlled. Control is an abstraction, created by the attempt to understand our life's flow with words; which have "things" and "actions". You can walk and do things, without having to set up a controlling entity. It just happens, for you to open or close your hand; you just do it, there is no need to control the hand. No matter how hard you might want to pretend that control is possible, you are left with the paradox of who controls the controller? Control should be replaced by a more creative concept. If you understand, you will see the double meaning of that last sentence.

If that captain "went with the flow," he wouldn't have a ship in the first place. He wouldn't have food, because he would not have worried about what he would eat if he didn't earn it. He wouldn't have shoes because he didn't earn them through work. After all, being a total bum is "going with the flow" as much as one can.

It's the early bird who catches the worm who knows that going with the flow won't fill his belly, or build his nest, or hatch his eggs. And since the early bird is merely following nature rather than some deep-seated desire to "control" things, it's only natural that man do the same. Except that man's nature is as the "rational animal" and that requires he gain control over his own life. He can't just run out and catch worms.

Source(s): I am the source. I write one of the Liberty Blogs. Yahoo is censoring that address here, but you can find it on my profile. Isn't it ironic that they censor the address of a Liberty Blog? LOL This is the reason I quit Yahoo 6 months ago. Let me quote their own guidelines: Guidelines state: "If you have years of experience in something, have a special hobby, own your own business, [ ] it's OK to accompany a good, on-topic answer with a link to your website, blog, or email to offer more information." They are not following their own guidelines, and they never do. Yahoo sucks, but as long as they don't prevent me from publishing this as "source," I will continue to answer questions. If I disappear again, you'll know why.

Being controlled never feels good. Most young people tend to not want to make 'plans'. I think to 'go with the flow' has huge benefits for the individual and for society as a whole.

On the other hand, 'CYA'--cover yr ***.

Because of unpredictability. What if the captain hits bad storms, loses his way, or his ship strikes an iceberg!

    He needs back up.

"Be Prepared" as the scouts say!

they fear losing it;the fear of the unknown.

they would control the world if they could.
