Stomach flu for more then a couple days?
So for the past week I have had an on and off light (never over 100) fever. Also nausea and stomach aches and some sometimes dizzy. My mom has had the same symptoms as me and lots of people at my school have been getting just the flu. I thought that the stomach flu only last for a couple days which is why I keep holding off to go to the doctor...can it last more then a couple days or do I have something else.
im going to the doctors for a physical sometime this week so I will bring it up then If im still feeling sick....

the stomach flu usually only last between 1-5 days it rarely lasts longer then that but it does happen, it all depends on the type of virus (15 specific types of stomach virus) you have and how good ur immune system is, unfortunately there really isnt any antibiotics that help with this type of virus, studies show people taking antibiotics while being sick with the same virus as someone not taking antibiotics got better around the same time, the only thing there is to do is REST REST REST sip ginger ale or 7up, and drink or sip soups, no solid foods, and do not over exert urself, do this until u feel as if ur energy is back to normal, sadly this virus just has to work its course, good luck!

Unfortunately it can last for a few days, One my daughter and I experienced lasted about a week. One thing I can tell you that worked wonders for me was Dramamine. It really helped with the nausea. Also, stick with bland foods and avoid dairy products (its harder on your stomach).
