Can I use one card for two direct tv receivers?

We have an older receiver at our cabin and a newer receiver at the office and would like to cancel our contract at the office and use the card from the cabin. Can we just put the card from the cabin into the office receiver or do we need to bring the old receiver as well?

Cards are associated with receivers. Simply exchange the whole unit.

So, put the new receiver in the cabin and return the old receiver.
