If I have a D.U.I and a suspended drivers license, and get pulled over and issued a ticket, how long is it?

If I have a D.U.I and a suspended drivers license, and get pulled over and issued a ticket for driving on a suspended license. A D.u.i. normally means your license is taken for 6 months, how long will I have to wait now?

Since they only issued you a ticket and did not arrest you, you are probably looking at anywhere between 6 months and or year added to your suspension. Depending on your state's laws, the next time you get pulled over for driving with the suspended license, you might be looking at jail time or worse, prison.

So, you have a suspended license for a DUI and you were driving AND got pulled over?! They should revoke your driving privileges for good and throw you in jail for a while! After all, not having a license means nothing to you anyway. How about taking a bit of responsibility and NOT driving without a license and NOT driving while drinking? There's a novel idea.

Driving Under Suspension is usually an additional 6 months but laws very from state to state. If you get caught DUS, there is usually jail time involved. Most states will give you work privileges to drive to/from work. It would be worth the time to get the driving privileges that to sit in jail.

    One year.

And you now have a new criminal charge.

I've seen the end result in these cases being a revocation of all driving privileges for 5 or 10 years...

The length of the suspension didn't seem to bother you before, why worry about it now?
