He won't call me at home! What is up with this?
I'm 21 and I've been talking to this guy who's 25 for about 2 years. We met studying abroad but we live in different states. We keep in contact but he refuses to call me at home, only on my cell phone which I just think is weird. When I asked him why he said something like "What if your parents pick up the phone or something?" I'm like who cares?!! I'm 21 and my parents won't care!! They we're interested in getting to know him but now they're suspicious of him.
My university is not far from house but I have an apartment closer to my university and I go home some weekends. When I'm at home my cell doesn't work because I live in a forest so all my friends know to call me there.
Oh and this guy RARELY calls me and its usually after I've called him.

It's a little weird. Your relationship is long distance, so you can't be too serious about each other. He probably doesn't want to have an awkward conversation with your parents.

I didn't want my parents to know about my boyfriend, so I always made him call my cell. Now two years later he still calls my cell. It's just something we got used to. Maybe he just gets nervous around parents. Some guys are like that. Or maybe he doesn't know if he will be "accepted" by your parents, so he wants to avoid them for now.

wow dude i am the same way about it!! haha just be cool about it. He is probably concious of what your parents might think of him or your parents might be judgmental. Hes just being causious. Dont mind it. I know a **** ton of men that are the same way. So just ask if he would like to meet them this summer or something. Invite him over on a winter break or something. If hes that good of a guy then get to know. Btw talk to your parents aswell lol

Your guy seems to just be shy about the whole situation. I'm sure he likes you, but he's nervous to a sense that he doesn't want to call your house unless you're on a more personal level to let other people know.

sounds to me like he is scared of ur parents?.. i don't know tho. did u see what he looks like? maybe he thinks 2 yrs is too slow. or maybe he just wants to stay friends and nothing more. i think this because well he doesn't want to call ur house or talk to ur parents. to me that's only a friend? besides he is 4 ys older. nothing is wrong with that but that and different states and not wanting to talk to ur parents?

Do you ever call him at home? If not, maybe he doesn't want to call you at home because he doesn't want you to call him at home. If this is the case, he's either married or has a live-in girlfriend.
Either way, sounds weird. I don't know if it's something you should pursue.

Well, number one, why wouldn't he call your cell phone? It's YOUR phone, if he wants to talk to you, it seems appropriate he would call the number that directly goes to you.
Number two, I understand where he's coming from, it's awkward. And if he can avoid it, I don't see why he wouldn't. Number one applies here too.

im the same way, me and my gf are 16 and we are paranoid of each other's parents. i only call her on her cell phone because i dont like dealing with the pressure of her parents. he is intimidated by your parents and just like me, avoids them at all costs.
