If Jesus said to Follow no other Doctrine, Then Why do you follow the doctrine of the trinity?

The doctrine of the trinity was written in 325ad and finished in 381ad.

At least 300 before the trinity doctrine was written, Jesus and the Apostles said that we should follow no other Doctrines? So why do you do what The Bible says not to do?

Update:

Ro 16:17 -

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

Eph 4:14 -

that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

1Ti 1:3 -

As I urged you when I went into Macedonia--remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

2Jo 1:9 -

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

2Jo 1:10 -

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;

There is no such thing as a "trinity", it is a word and an idea that is man-made, just as purgatory is.

Since people bring up "Let us make man in our image" that was the Spirit speaking to the flesh (Jesus), just as Jesus(in His flesh) spoke to the spirit many times.

We all have three parts to us, but only ONE name and we are each only one person. Sometimes I struggle with different "sides" of myself when I am trying to do what is right.

My flesh wants to do one thing, but my spirit says do another.

I talk to myself, just as I'm sure that you do.

We all have a spirit, a soul and a body - does this make us three people? No, we are still just one person.

When the bible says there are three that bear record in heaven, it follows up with, THESE THREE ARE ONE.

Let's look at this scripture in context

1 John 5:6-8 (King James Version)

6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

So here in verse 6 it is calling the "Spirit" truth - so is the "Spirit of truth" part of the trinity?

Then, in verse 7, it says one of the three is the "Word" not the "Son", so is the Word or the Son part of the trinity?

    In John 1:1-3 it says

    John 1:1-3 (King James Version)

    John 1

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In this scripture it calls the Word "God", then goes on to say that

all things were made by him - which is referring to "God the Father" the Creator? So is the "Word" God or Jesus?

They are one in the same.

In other words, when I get to heaven, I will only see ONE person.

    Revelation 4:2

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

For those who quote Matthew 28:19, first let's look at it in context

    Matthew 28:18-20 (King James Version)

18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus said ALL power is given unto me in and heaven an in earth - how could He have ALL power if He had to share it with "God the Father and God the Holy Ghost"

Also He said in the Name (not names) of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. What is the name of the Father?

Jesus said "I and my father are one"

    John 10:29-31 (King James Version)

29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30I and my Father are one.

31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Why did the Jews want to stone Him? Because He claimed to be God.

The NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and Word and Truth etc... etc... is Jesus.

    John 14:9

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

When Philip asked to see the Father - Jesus basically said -

    "you're looking at Him".

In every example where people were baptized, it was in the Name of Jesus.

    Acts 8:16

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

    Acts 10:48

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayedActs 19:5

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. they him to tarry certain days.

    Acts 2:38-41 (King James Version)

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

    Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

All scripture - sorry this is so long, but there are many more scriptures proving that there is no such thing as a "trinity".

There are numerous doctrines floating around the world which have nothing whatsoever to do with what Christ taught. They are "traditions of Man", which he spoke against. He only mentions the Holy Father, Holy Son and Holy Spirit once in the NT. Why this has been inflated over the years is probably because Man loves to create traditions which are essentially useless in the quest for spiritual enlightenment, which is exactly what the key to the Kingdom is. Most people don't understand that, though.

Add- in the Seven Woes Christ says HE is the teacher. No one else.

The doctrine of the Trinity is the doctrine of God. He made a revelation at the time of Creation. He confirmed it through Join the Baptist. And He manifested it through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He works it through the lives of the believers. He will complete it at the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let US make man in Our image....pretty hard to get around that one.

I dont claim to understand the nuts and bolts of how the trinity or Godhead is put together. But to snuff it out as heresy is indeed false doctrine in itself.

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

I can read 1 John 5:7 as many times as I want...and never see something besides the Triune Godhead.

Come on, the trinity is all over the Bible. When Jesus was baptized, He was there in the flesh, The Father spoke, and Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove. That is only one example and a very clear one at that.

Also Jesus never said "follow no other doctrine" ALL the scriptures you have quoted are all after his death, resurrection, and Ascension.

There must have been a doctrine of the nature of God during the time of Jesus and the Aopostles, The Trinity is only the formalization of that, against errors, one of which would be your error that there was no doctrine of God. There was one in the OT, the Shema.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

    Jesus said this. And also....

Jhn 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Jhn 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

These and many other scriptures tell us plainly that the Trinity was testified of by Jesus and the Apostles.

Yes, the "trinity" is a man-made doctrine!

To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me that we may be like?.........I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me<Isaiah 45:5, 9>

From early on in the Bible there is a clear plurality of persons in the ONE essence of God ("Let us make man in our own image..."). Just because the official doctrine of the trinity took 100s of years to specifically define does not mean that it wasn't a core principle in the Bible.

The Father is God (Genesis 1.1), the Son is God (John 1.1, 8.58, 21.28, Colossians 1.6,17 and Hebrews 1.8-10) and the Spirit is God (Acts). All three are persons, all three are God.

Those who reject the deity of Jesus (which every cult does) reject the Father also (so said Jesus). I beg you to turn from the hateful doctrines of CT Russell.

His "Identity" is One Holy Compound Unit!! (Also read Exodus 3:14 as compared to John 8:58 for starters.) <')))><
