How can I fake the XP service pack level to an installation program?

My machine has XP service pack 3. The software I am installing expects SP2. Is it possible to lie to the installation routine to get it to continue?

Update:

It's the software for the Lantronix Ubox 2100. The device is a USB to ethernet adapter. It allows you to place your USB device at network distances instead of USB distances.

Odd that it doesn't care if it's SP2 or higher. See if there is an updated install file for the application, or check with the vendor and perhaps they have a suggestion. It would be helpful to post the name of the software you are trying to install.
