Shimmy after tire rotation?
After I rotated the tires on my 2007 Camry, I have a shimmy. I checked the lug nuts, just in case I left some loose, but they were all tight. I can put the tires back, but I don't understand why they would shimmy after rotating them. Any ideas? Should I just leave them in their original positions and not rotate them?
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoAdvice for a digital photography book?
I want a book to help me with the aesthetics of taking pictures. I'm at the level of taking holiday snaps. I just don't have the eye (or experience) for taking nice pics.
I prefer a book that leans more to the aesthetic side versus the physics of a camera (I believe I understand the physics of a camera already). Of course if the book is very good, I can always skip parts I don't need.
4 AnswersPhotography10 years agoNonbelievers, what to do with a kindergarten child and the Pledge of Allegiance?
My child started kindergarten in September. I didn't realize the public school recited the Pledge, especially with children so young. I disagree with the government pressuring young children to make oaths and the government telling my child to say "one nation, under god".
Can you tell me what you did and how it worked out? If something doesn't work or has negative consequences, I'd like to know that too.

It's not jammed, and water flows fine. Still, some of the food remains and starts to smell. One thing I've noticed is that the two metal pieces inside that look like they should be loose seem to be stuck. In previous disposals I've seen they moved freely.

My machine has XP service pack 3. The software I am installing expects SP2. Is it possible to lie to the installation routine to get it to continue?

1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoPython text parsing and field delimiters.?
I have a Python script that is reading URLs from a text file. Some of the URLs will need usernames & passwords. What is the best way to delimit and read the different fields in Python? I need something that can handle delimiter characters inside the URL or password field.
Thanks!
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade ago1995 Saturn SL1 Battery and Generator?
About a year or so ago, my old battery bit the dust (it no longer held a charge) and I replaced it with a new one. Just yesterday, the new battery bit the dust and I replaced the battery yet again.
Could the generator be doing something harmful to the battery? Or is it more likely I just got a low quality battery last time? The earlier battery had been in the car for many years before failing.
The panel lights do not indicate any problem (e.g "Check Engine" light).
Thanks for any info you have!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhy is religion so bent on war?
Today I've seen questions with these links:
It seems that some religious believers equate mere disagreement with armed conflict. Someone disagrees with us! Time to fight!
What happened to plain old discussion and logical persuasion? What happened to letting someone be when you can't come to a common conclusion?
I look at the violence in the world, see web sites like this and I conclude that the world would be much better off without religion.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan you explain surprising C++ parsing?
Much to my surprise, an incorrect copy and paste seems to be legal C++.
Instead of writing
if (my_func())
I accidentally wrote
if (bool my_func())
It seems to compare the function address. Can someone please explain this? I didn't think a function declaration could appear in an expression.
#include <iostream>
bool my_func()
{
return false;
}
int main()
{
if (bool my_func())
std::cout << "true\n";
else
std::cout << "false";
return 0;
}
the output is "true".

When I see AA and D NiMH rechargeables, I see the same energy rating, e.g. 2500 mAH. Should I just get the AA -> D sizing adapter?
