NiMH batteries, AA vs D?
When I see AA and D NiMH rechargeables, I see the same energy rating, e.g. 2500 mAH. Should I just get the AA -> D sizing adapter?
I have a device that takes D and I was hoping to use a rechargable.
demos_jones: Yes, the Energizer NiMH rechargable D size lists as 2500 mAH. In fact, when you pick them up they aren't as heavy as one would expect. I was wondering if I was somehow missing something. If they were the same price as the AA, I wouldn't care, but they cost about 50% more.

Something doesn't sound right. A D-cell with only a 2500 maH rating? Should be about 5 times that.
Both the AA and D size are approx 1.5 volt. The advantage of the larger D cell is that it can supply that voltage for a longer time. The advantage of the AA cell is that it's a lot smaller.
If size does not matter, then using a D battery is perfectly fine as long as there is some way to accomodate the size. But in your case, why use a larger battery if you're not going to get longer life for it?

Batteries are a storage device, no longer a power source. the quantity of storage skill is immediately proportional to the actual length of the battery. So AA has as plenty power as a million/5th of a D. So even inspite of the undeniable fact that long the D batteries lasted, divide that by way of 4-5. possibly 2 contraptions of AA's and characteristic one interior the charger, or get the AC adapter and dont use batteries in any respect.
