Why is it liberals always want to lower American standards of living instead of raising standards of others?

American standards of living are incredibly high, what are you talking about?

We make up 25% of the world's purchases yet we have maybe 6% of the world population.

We have the highest food-consumption-rate. 2/3 of the world is starving while America eats horrendous amounts and hits obecity rates of 34% of the adult population.

We are very technologically advanced, not overpopulated, wealthy enough to eat every day, what more do you want?

and lastly no one lowers the standards of living, for life is always just life as long as you are living. The individual person control's their own standards of living. Government hardly affects how much the individual steels from the store or volunteers for their community.

As I recall, the war in Iraq lowered the living standards of a lot of the citizens we were "suppose to help." Including ours.

On the contrary, liberals simply want the playing field level so that everyone has an opportunity to raise their standard of living...as opposed to many conservatives who prefer to make the rules benefit those with an already high standard of living so that they can be even more comfortable while laying obstacles for those less fortunate so that they can keep their "prosperity club" exclusive and make it much more difficult for anyone else to prosper. No one wants to be less prosperous...and anyone who thinks that is simply ignorant of the facts and living in a sheltered reality.
