Since when is it a good idea to give a chimp xanex?

Never. I was deeply saddened when I saw on the news that the chimp was not only killed by it's owner for the chimp for attacking, but then it comes out that the chimp had been given Xanax. Chimps are wild animals and need to remain free, if they need to be "sedated" to remain in captivity to be someones companion then the owner is wrong. The owner should be fined heavily, the chimp was drugged and I am quite sure there are no clear studies on the effects of Xanax on a Chimpanzee.

Chimps are wild animals that need to be in a zoo or in the wild. not kept as a pet. If you have to give xanex you do not need to have one. I don't know what people are thinking of when they get wild animals as pets. If I was the cop I would have shot it too.

Monkeys and chimps are more likely to attack their owners than any other wild animal that's been taken from it's wild environment....even over dogs.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to own one anyways.....they deserve what they get for trying to own a wild animal.

That's crazy. If she did give the chimp Xanax, she needs to get locked up.

Is this something you heard about in the news? I have a monkey and I don't give him anything I just let him be himself. He tears up everything but I love him to death.
