The goat one I though was originally with a camel or jackass in Iraq? From awhile ago. You can actually go to youtube and find the youtube video with the story and everything.

I've never heard the cool aid one but I do know your reference to the Jonestown Cult. Massive suicide. Incredibly devastating.

Drinking the cool aid refers to blindly following someone.

In the military we do not get to pick who we work for. Sometimes you have to work for someone that is not all that great or maybe has a "tarnished" record.

People will tell you not to drink the cool aid. It means follow that person's orders and support them in front of the troops as you are required to, but don't put your heart and soul into everything he tells you. i.e. keep all outwardly appearances as if you are a member of the cult, but when it comes refreshment time, don't drink the cool aid.

    Make sense?

Their investment isn't as undesirable as human beings think of; USMC and USN acquisitions are frequently separate line products in the protection funds (Congress LOVES the USMC, particularly), and it is no longer as though the DoN workplaces that draw up budgets artwork finished time on the army and then fill in the Marine budgets on the slow days-separate workplaces working at the same time to do the two. i've got been advised that the USMC sucks at acquisitions (show A: the EFV. show B: the M/V-22), yet that would not recommend they do no longer seem to be respected via "US defense force spectacular brasses", whoever it is (like the Commandant, i'm guessing?). as a good distance because of the fact the older kit is going, it is extra a element of the Marine Corps mantra. they have not got faith in the could desire to have particularly effective, new kit (a minimum of once you flow to the guy point)-they're going to get via on what they have. it is no longer the kit that concerns as lots because of the fact the Marine working it, in different words. "Why is that, whilst the marine corps of different worldwide places like britain's RMC and netherland MC are geared up and funded on par with a definite operation unit (they are particularly component to the country's specific operation forces)" nicely, because of the fact they are specific Forces...and the USMC isn't.
