Is it normal for a snake to go back into a shed 2 months after she completed her last one?

I was having a problem with her eating. She completed her shed in Dec and then wouldn't eat. She finally ate 2 weeks ago and retreated to her box. She came out once for a drink and went back in her box. Now her eyes are blue again and her skin has a dull sheen.

Sick animals usually shed their skill as a means to show you that they are getting skinny. I'd take her to a vet, her not eating is not a good sign!

Snakes' shedding cycles depend on food intake, mainly, and correspond with their growth. A snake will shed extra if it experiencing skin problems (such as those caused by mites, scale rot, or mouse bites).

Two months is normal for a growing snake, however. You have nothing to worry over :)

I have snakes that shed every month. It is perfectly normal. And based on the age, it is not that often. And it DOES NOT mean that they are showing you they are sick. Snakes shed because they are growing. They shed the old skin to grow into the new. If they were shrinking, they wouldn't need to shed...

sounds like you have a ball python.mine go for months without eating but still shed.shedding can mean the are just healthy if they seem fine otherwise.i have a honduran baby milk snake that woukdnt eat for 6 weeks when i first got it(unstarted) but it stii went to bathroom and shed.then i finally found it wanted lizards, finally got it eating mice(by braining them and smearing it all over and then rubbing with lizard skin).now hes a pig and my most bueatiful snake-by the way all snakes are different- my corns shed every 3 weeks but i have a carpet that goes months and all are healthy

Shedding is a sign of two things; growth or mites. Since she just ate, she is processing the fats from the rodent, and is now too big for her old skin, so she is shedding it. Frequent sheds may also be a sign of mites, but 2 months isn't exactly what I'd call "frequent", so you shouldn't worry about mites.

it is totally normal, younger snakes shed alot more frequently then older ones (about every 4 to 6 weeks)because their metabolism is why higher so they grow faster. as they tend to age their metabolism lowers down so they grow alot slower.

    hoped this helped.

Normal behavior, especially for this time of the year and for a growing snake.
